The Decision Review

A focused review when the decision needs more than a conversation.

A focused three-week review for an owner or CEO carrying an important business decision.

Elizabeth clarifies the real question, reviews the relevant evidence, tests the realistic options and provides a clear recommendation with practical next steps.

Discuss a Decision Review

Recommended after an initial conversation, where it is the right fit.

Who the Review is for

An owner or CEO carrying a decision with real consequences: growth, leadership, structure, succession, governance, or a significant investment.

The situation is important enough that acting on instinct alone feels risky, but a long advisory programme would be out of proportion.

The leader wants an independent view before committing, not a team of consultants inside the business for months.

What happens over three weeks

The shape flexes to the decision, but a Review typically moves through three stages.

01

Understand

Elizabeth works with the accountable leader to frame the real decision, why it matters now and what sits outside scope. She speaks with the executives, owners or stakeholders whose perspectives are necessary to understand the situation properly.

02

Examine

The relevant evidence is reviewed: the information required to test the issue, not an uncontrolled review of the whole business. Assumptions are separated from facts. The realistic options, trade-offs and risks are made visible.

03

Recommend

Elizabeth states what she believes should happen, why, and what could change that view. The recommendation is recorded in a concise Decision Note, and immediate actions, owners and review points are agreed.

What you leave with

Clear advice should leave something useful behind.

Decision framing

A clear statement of the decision, why it matters now and what sits outside scope.

Evidence and assumptions

What is known, what is believed and what still needs testing.

Realistic options

The available paths, trade-offs, risks and consequences.

A clear recommendation

Elizabeth’s view on what should happen and why.

A Decision Note

A concise written record suitable for the owner, CEO, executive team or board.

Immediate actions

Named owners, next steps and agreed review points.

Outside the engagement

The Review stays advisory. It does not become implementation or programme management, a full operational or financial audit, a substitute for the board or the executive team, or making the decision on the leader’s behalf.

What it asks of you

The accountable leader’s involvement is focused: a framing conversation at the start, availability for questions as the evidence is reviewed, and a working session to test the options before the recommendation is finalised.

Elizabeth speaks with the small number of people closest to the decision, not the whole organisation, and reviews only the evidence the decision requires.

The decision remains yours.

How a Review begins

Every Review starts with a conversation about the decision you are carrying. Where a defined review is the right fit, Elizabeth will recommend the scope. Where it is not, she will say so.
